On your way you will stop in romantic Verona, a town of romantic story about Romeo and Juliet protected also by UNESCO World Heritage Site. Guided tour of the city will take you to the lovely square Piazza delle Erbe, Roman amphitheater, Jueliets’ house ana other historical sites. Some free time for lunch and exploring Verona on your own. Later on, drive to Venice area . Arrival in late afternoon, accommodation, free time. DAY 9: VENICE B Welcome to the most romantic city in the world, Venice. Embark the taxi boat and take a guided tour of the Venice city. Your tour will take you around St. Marco’s Square to see Basilica with famous mosaics and its bell tower, Astrological tower, the Doge’s palace - residence of Doges, cross the Rialto bridge and listen to the stories of famous Venetians. Free afternoon to enjoy city on yourself, find true souvenirs from Murano glass, and have a coffee on Str Marco’s square. In the evening return to hotel for overnight. 4 OPTIONAL: Gondola ride through Venice’s canals DAY 10: VENICE – TRIESTE - LJUBLJANA B, L Goodbye Venice and drive towards Slovenia. On the way, stop in Italy’s most cosmopolitan city, Trieste. Glorious Habsburgs made it “the little Vienna on the sea”, and in its characteristic mixture of languages, people and religions one easily senses its combined Central European and Mediterranean spirits. After guided tour of Piazza Unità and on to the monumental palazzi and the Greek Orthodox Church of San Nicolò on the Trieste Canal Grande (Grand Canal) and the center of the neighborhood built at the behest of Maria Theresa of Austria, lunch in traditional trattoria and drive to Ljubljana. Arrival in the late afternoon, accommodation and overnight. DAY 11: LJUBLJANA B, D Start your day with visit of colorful Slovenian capital, Ljubljana. Your guide will take you around and show you most important attractions, such as Preseren’s square, Triple bridge, fishmarket, town hall andmany others. To wrap up the whole Ljubljana story, you will also take funicular up to the castle hill, to learn more about Ljubljana and Slovenia’s history and of course admire amazing view from the top. Afternoon will be free at leisure, to enjoy city on your own. 4 OPTIONAL: Slovenian folklore dinner DAY 12: ZAGREB B Say goodbye to stunning Slovenia and drive to Croatia. Walking tour of its historical capital Zagreb composed of the Gornji Grad and Kaptol, will show medieval urban complex of churches, palaces, museums, galleries and government buildings popular sightseeing spots of the city. Free afternoon to enjoy and discover city on your own. DAY 13: PLITVICE – OPATIJA B, L One of the most photogenic natural parks is waiting for you! Plitvice national park will absolutely take your breath away! With its exceptional natural beauty, this area has always attracted nature lovers, and already on 8 April 1949, it was proclaimed Croatia’s first national park. A UNESCO World Heritage Site is considered one of the most spectacular natural phenomena with 16 emerald-turquoise lakes that are connected to each other by a fabulous system of waterfalls. After lunch, the scenic road will take you to blue Adriatic coastline. You will accommodate in Opatija, dame of coastal Croatia that emerged as holiday resort for elite already in 19 th century hosting eminent guests such as Emperor Franc Josef I, empress Maria Anna and many others. DAY 14: ISTRIA TOUR B, T Istria is the largest peninsula in the Adriatic Sea. The peninsula is located at the head of the Adriatic between Gulf of Trieste and Kvarner Gulf and it is shared by three countries: Italy, Slovenia and Croatia. Rovinj is one of the most popular andmost developed tourist resorts in Croatia. The old town is built on the island and it is the most picturesque and romantic towns on Mediterranean. To fell the true Istrian spirit, visit one of Istrian agritourism farm for local tasting . Continue to Porec, one of most popular holiday destinations in Istria. A stroll through town and its narrow streets, will mesmerize you. In the afternoon return to hotel and enjoy free time by the sea. DAY 15: PREDJAMA CASTLE – POSTOJNA CAVE – JULIAN ALPS B , L Saying goodbye to seaside, your adventure will continue to the underworld, more exactly Karst underworld. Your fist stops - Predjama , amazing Renaissance fortress, built within a cave, is not at all the kind of castle you are familiar with. Even Guinees book of records listed it biggest castle ever built inside a rock. It will definitely leave you speechless. Enter the queen of caves – Postojna cave , the only cave in the world with a train in it. The cave offers a unique experience of the underworld . Lunch and in the afternoon continue to Julian Alps region and enjoy your free time in pristine nature. DAY 16: BLED AND BOHINJ B, L, D Time for Alpine fairy tale! With immense natural beauty , Bled, together with its surroundings and magnificent lake with an island, ranks among the most beautiful alpine resorts of the world. Amazing castle on the cliff is offering stunning views of the region, while island in the middle of the lake can be visited with traditional boat called “pletna”. Later on, continue to the largest alpine lake in Slovenia – lake Bohinj. You will take a funicular to Mt Vogel top , where your breath will be taken away by unforgettable views of Triglav National Park. Lunch and some free time to admire its natural beauty and relax on the lake shore. In the evening join you group for a farewell dinner where you will talk about most memorable moments of the tour and plan for new ones.
